Because, unless you go every weekend I honestly can’t complain (Europe) about the taste of the meals (even though they’re rising in pricing).
Also for what I’ve seen the ones we have are smaller than USA big menu

Whenever I have it it now tastes like slop compared to what else I can get for the same value. I think they’re overvaluing their offering. Wendies, a&w, burger king, and others are in the same ballpark price and their burgers are superior imo.
Wendys near here is 20-40% more. I liked them for the salads but simply couldn’t afford them .
Last I checked a Dave’s single combo at Wendy’s was around $10.50 and a quarter pounder combo was around $15.
I could be wrong though. I just remember being shocked at the price when I got to the window.
Edit: CAD $
Thanks for point that out. They fixed prices a long time ago. I remember ordering a bourbon bacon burger it was something near $14. It was discontinued 4 years ago according to google.
It started out as 7-8$ and was a regular order or mine.
The new menu and prices all look normal on the website. Companies need to be careful , I wasn’t a loyal customer. I was a habituated one. Once I broke the habit of going to Wendy’s I replaced it with another place and haven’t given them a look in 5 years. They fixed prices but still lost me. I’d imagine that McDonalds lost a few lifetime customers.
I find Wendy’s and BK are less consistent than McDonald’s. McDonald’s isn’t the best but I can stop at one anywhere in the US on a road trip and receive the same quality. The Wendy’s near me is fantastic, the BK is awful - but I have encountered the reverse while traveling.
As far as McDonald’s pricing, I think they’re trying to drive everyone to the app. The have good deals in the app and if you’re not using those deals I feel like you’re choosing to pay 20% to 100% more. The also are realizing people who refuse to install restaurant apps have dropped off their spending because of the inflated regular prices, so they’re finally putting a few “value” options back on their menus, starting just this month.
