I hope Kent behaves, bcachefs is been working well for me on latest kernels and I’d hate to see it removed entirely.
The tooling needs some more love as well (e.g. there’s currently no rebalance) but I understand the focus on the kernel bits. Recently added a drive (or rather a decrypted partition) and everything went smooth. Other places are also suspiciously quiet about bugs, in a good way.
All he has to do is put his emails on an 8hr delay-and-confirm process. Like, he writes, hits send, but then it’s held for 8 hours after which he has to go back and read what he wrote and turn click “confirm.”
There are a ton of issues with how he’s managing the patch, so I’m being a little facetious, but I’ve known many people who’ve communicated like Kent does and adopting a wait-and-review communication model does wonders.
