To get things started off here, why don’t we talk about the mods that we’re currently running with TOTK? I’ll start!

Looks like I’m super outdated! Last time I tinkered with TOTK on my Steam Deck, the latest and greatest mod was a beta version of fps++.

Looks like I’ll have to check the mods from your list! Any recommendations for performance?

Eyo! If your gearing for performance, I’d recommend staying up-to-date with the latest version of Yuzu EA. That’s where you’ll see the biggest perf gains beyond tinkering around with emulator settings (which, from my experience, only really offers minimal gains). One of the more recent EA versions from a few days ago gave me a monster boost in performance, around 20fps on average. You can grab the latest builds from here!

FPS++ worked great for me for a while - I had way less stutters with it than Chuck’s Dynamic FPS mods. However, the Dynamic FPS 1.5.2 update addressed all my stuttering issues and gave me a bit better performance than the former, so I made the switch. 1.5.3 is even better, and development seems to be more active than FPS++. In your case on the Steam Deck, you may want to pair it with a static 30fps mod.

Thanks a lot for all the information! I’ll update my old Yuzu and check out the new mod for FPS.

I really want to play TOTK… But I just started The Witcher 3 and if I drop it I know I won’t be back.

By the way, I moderate the handheld PC community (even though we only have one post haha) if you want to post your community there to spread it out, be my guest.

Haha, I feel that dude. I’ve probably started The Witcher 3 like… three separate times, and I always fall off within the first two weeks. One of these days I’ll get around to playing it in its entirety.
