By the time the damage piles up, there will not be enough sociopolitical cohesion or spare resources to invest in meaningful mitigation. We are in a global civilizational death spiral, a mutually reinforcing polycrisis, a complex systems collapse. Some places and countries will fare relatively better than others, but they’re all looking at massive declines in absolute terms.
