With the Women’s TDU dominated by non-Aussies, it’s actually nice to see some Australian dominance. Chapeau to Welsford, particularly today for overcoming that early crash and making it back on when he was dropped. But I still think Danny van Poppel is the true hero, Bora had to drop him back to pace Welsford back on, and Danny still had enough in the tank to give Welsford a magic carpet ride leadout and drop him off with 200m to go.
