I’m not sure a filter would actually work that well. For example, it might block out Trump and Musk, but then a new keyboard appears
I’m assuming you mean keyword? If so, it shouldn’t be too bad. Just add on to it, and if you see more, add more. The real problem are image posts (ie normal title but image of trump or musk) you’d need to use an AI for that
Instead, it should probably be based on instances (for example, block a whole instance), communities (whitelist/blocklist communities)
Unfortunately some people post US politics on general communities, so even then you’re not safe. I wouldn’t block general comms just because some people ruin the fun for everyone else.
I guess making new instances gives us the chance to block certain topics from the start, setting in new moderators that can maybe be more stringent on keeping the community fun.
Starting a new instance is no easy task, let alone a community alone 😆
Though you’ll always get those “everything is political” mfs (see this post), who just insist on greying every single space with [US] politics. Usually they can be banned easily.
Though if that were to be made, i’d probably switch to it, lol.
