I figured the target audience would be women who grew up in the 90s esp with some of the musical and cultural references.
The dolls are for little girls but the movie isn’t - the screening I went to would be mid 20 to 40 yr olds, probably 80% women.
The joke will go over kids heads. Plus I feel like the target audience are people who grew up In the nineties, when barbie was insanely popular. Those people are in their 30s now, so the joke wasn’t out of place.
