How would you make the most OP archer build?

Personally I started with

  • keen-sighted: +20% accuracy
  • overwhelm tactics: adjacent +20% crit chance
  • barbarian culture: the only early ranged unit they have is T2, the fury, making it better than the T1 from ‘high’
  • fabled hunters: ranged +1 rank and start with extra ranged unit
  • runesmiths: cheaper unit enchantments
  • tome of enchantment
  • champion: for the 10% extra gold income

Also, do you think anything will change in this build with the Dragon Dawn DLC?

I mean… spider mounts instead of overwhelm if you want to be OP (otherwise, that one that mitigates casualties is pretty good). But then you don’t need barbarian since the scouts are plenty good until you summon your many booked archer options. Actually, as nice as fury is, the T1 Materium archers are pretty powerful, too.

Tome of the Horde for sure, though. That 20% damage boost for everything is worth the increased fragility (and doubly so for ranged). Even more valuable than lightning arrows (but feel free to take those if you want. I’m recently sold on Vine Prison being a game-breaker especially for archers, though. Which means my last game I just ignored Tome of Enchantment and didn’t miss it one bit. And let’s be honest, everything in Horde is great to the lategame.

I actually like Wizard King, perhaps because I didn’t pick runesmith, instead going for lower upkeep.

That makes a lot of sense, but I do feel a sense of snowballing power once I start stacking those unit enchantments on the archers. I’ll definitely try your build with some spiders, zephyr archers, etc. Sounds fun! Thanks for the rec

To expand on what I’m doing, I basically have every single additional elemental enchantment on the Furies, which then leads me to take the Tome of Pandemonium and get that 30% extra damage from status effects. It’s crazy. Buuut it takes a while to be good.
