Yes for sure. D1 is older but it plays the exact same as D2. The story is a good one and you’ll really enjoy the context you get from the first game when you reach the second. They aren’t incredibly long games so you can finish it in a few evenings if you don’t take your time exploring and doing little side missions.
Two things to keep in mind, since you’ll be playing through D1 for the story, make sure you play through it non-lethally. The low chaos ending is canon so you’ll want to get it so that the plot in D2 makes sense. The other thing is to make sure you play the Knife of Dunwall and Witches of Brigmore Manor DLC (in that order) as they are functionally a prequel to the plot of the second game.
Hey thanks so much!! Good tips. I did end up starting the 2nd one but I think I’ll finish this one playthrough then go back and do D1 and play through d2 on the other playable character. I love it so far and I’m having a lot of fun figuring out different ways of going about the missions
But I’ll absolutely save your comment for future reference!
I think so. Like fallout 3 vs new Vegas the second has more polish, always.
You’re Corvo in the first one. You see your love and Empress killed in front of you, your daughter kidnapped, and you blamed. You escape. Now, you need to find your daughter. It leads into playing as Emily in game 2. Witches backstory as well.
Lol well now I don’t have to play D1! Kidding, I’m having a blast with two and have found myself drawn into the story (plenty of games I don’t care so much) so I’d love to go back and play D1 and then him in D2 since I ended up going with Emily
You convinced me to download the game. Been craving a game exactly like that for a while. Should the first one be played before going into 2?
