Summary

A poll commissioned by Danish and Greenlandic newspapers revealed that 85% of Greenlanders oppose joining the U.S., contradicting Trump’s claims that the territory prefers American rule over Denmark.

Only 6% supported U.S. affiliation, with 9% undecided.

Greenland’s Prime Minister Mute B. Egede reaffirmed the push for Greenlandic independence, rejecting both U.S. and Danish governance.

Trump has argued Greenland is vital for U.S. security and suggested force as an option.

Meanwhile, Denmark seeks to maintain unity with allies while opposing Trump’s ambitions.

Yes, but with trolls I meant people going “What bullshit is that? Hell’s gonna freeze before that happens, and this poll doesn’t have a real impact anyway, would be funny to vote yes.”

I would have thought people worldwide had learned after Brexit that a vote on national sovereignty is not a proper avenue for trolling, but alas.

It’s a poll by a newspaper, not an official referendum. Of course people will take it less seriously
