Just had to replace an axle on my Subaru. It didn’t even look like a pothole, it looked like a small ice patch. But it was just a skim layer of ice on top and a deep pothole full of water underneath. Probably shouldn’t have been going quite that fast either.

I aimed for a block of slush/snow driving once to squish it but it turned out to be solid ice and blew out the tire.
