I’m having an issue where a link I shared in my Lemmy instance does not resolve the preview image.

Link: https://www.gamepro.de/artikel/hello-kitty-island-adventure-switch-pc-release-meinung,3397967.html

I checked the page’s metadata with this service: https://debug.iframely.com/?uri=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.gamepro.de%2Fartikel%2Fhello-kitty-island-adventure-switch-pc-release-meinung%2C3397967.html

At least for me everything looks like expected, but still Lemmy does not show the preview image.

Any insights would be appreciated!

Thanks for your answer. I think my question was misleading. I meant that the final post misses the image at all. And according to the metadata I can not imagine why. For example the link description is there.

Ah right okay. I thought you meant the preview while composing the post because I checked your posting history and didn’t find the link you’re talking about - hence, I figured you probably hadn’t tried to post it yet 🙂

Your link checks out. Your post should have a preview image. If it doesn’t, it might be a problem with lemmy.world indeed, which wouldn’t surprise me on account of the fact that lemmy.world also has issues with previews hosted by my own instance (SDF).

I.e. lemmy.world might have a more general problem with filtering or not handling properly certain images from certain URLs.

Actually I am tinkering around with my own instance and wanted to know if I am doing something wrong.
