"OK so look, Capitalism is right wing.
Period.
If you are pro-capitalism, you are Right Wing.
There is no pro-capitalist Left. That’s a polite fiction in the US that no one can afford any longer as the ecosystem is actually collapsing around us."
Acting as if the terms left and right aren’t completely arbitrary.
I was told it was because of the French revolution. Imho, I think the terms are mostly rigid concepts.
AFAIK, they’ve been rigid since 1848, in the french revolution, the bourgeosie were on the left.
Right, they wanted a Republic free from the monarchy. That was how I understood it.
To the best of my knowledge the left does not want a monarchy. The right definitely does want a monarchy.
I guess having a monarchy might have changed the dynamic a bit.
They wanted a republic where they were the dominant class, hence why they liquidated the Jacobins when reached the desired amount of Libertie, Fraternatie, and Equalitie. A very common theme in failed revolutions is the left and the ascendent bourgeoisie on the same side, using the working class to gain power, then blocking all progress the moment their interests diverge, and either turning on the workers or giving them no reason to protect them from the counterrevoltion.
Sounds like classic liberal type shit. I guess that’s the point of the post, the center right liberals are always going to be right wing.
