Summary

Russia criticized Trump’s proposal to provide military aid to Ukraine in exchange for access to its rare earth minerals.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov condemned the idea as a commercial transaction rather than genuine support and reiterated Russia’s stance that halting aid would help end the war.

Trump argued that securing Ukraine’s resources, including titanium and lithium, was in U.S. interests.

While Ukraine has not responded, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz denounced the plan as selfish, noting Ukraine’s need to retain resources for postwar rebuilding.

I honestly don’t hate this idea entirely. Especially if it means actually raising our support for Ukraine. Putin will be furious and release everything he has on trump.

Ukraine was the the #1 reason I voted for Kamala. And Trumps demand for “rare earth” is the best news I’ve heard in 2 months.

Ukraine’s resources were always going to be part of the calculation. I read this as Trump gross way of acknowledging that abandoning them is against our interests and signaling to his supporters a justification for the 180.

It also shows that there may be a way to work with the shitgibbon from Europes perspective, even if it is problematic. They can still get him to a beneficial position.

Sheinbaum was right in that you need to figure out what HIS facts are, and then lie to him from there.
