Summary

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez warned that the Trump is deliberately overwhelming the public with chaotic news to induce passivity.

Citing Steve Bannon’s “flood the zone” strategy and historian Michiko Kakutani’s comparison of Trump to Mussolini and Hitler, she argued that Trump uses the internet to spread disinformation, much like past dictators used film and radio.

Urging people to stay engaged, she emphasized that collective resistance can slow harmful policies and that small acts of opposition make a difference.

    Just a few things:

    • Very (almost stupidly) presumptuous of you to assume someone calling for democrats to fight harder didn’t even vote. I’ve voted Democrat in every election since 2008, the first time I could vote.
    • Republicans keep on winning, which is why I want democrats to change to distinguish themselves from Republicans. Their lack of action against the administration so far and recent selection for DNC chair makes it clear that’s not the trajectory they’re on. They’re on the trajectory of continuing to say we can compromise with fascists.
    • I explicitly stated afterwards that I was being sarcastic in my first paragraph when I said democrats don’t need to change, and it still went over your head.
    • Even if I hadn’t turned out or had voted for Trump, your immediately leaping to the defense of the DNC and name-calling instead of making any actual argument or proposing what should be done reinforces the stigma that libs/lefties are dogmatic virtue signallers.

Take the last word if that makes you feel like you won, the only winning move in talking with you is not to play.
