During their protest of Russell Vought’s confirmation, Senate Democrats sounded the alarm about Vought’s role in drafting Project 2025 and his support for vastly expanding the power of the president.

Vought, said Wisconsin senator Tammy Baldwin at 10:30 pm eastern time on Wednesday, “has openly called for the president to defy congress and take control of federal funding decisions that are constitutionally vested in the legislative branch.”

Schiff accused the Trump administration of unlawfully attempting to break down the separation of powers and said Vought would play a role in aiding that effort.

“This is an effort to try to consolidate power, all the power of this government, in the hands of Donald Trump and a few of his hand-picked very wealthy, billionaire friends,” said California Democrat Adam Schiff.

And comments like you post, that are just parroting the Democrats platform of blaming their voter base, when they don’t know how to inspire that base… it’s getting old. And judging by all the downvotes on your comments, I guess it’s getting old for a lot of other people too.

Why is it that progressives consistently lose elections but talk like they know how to win elections?

If progressives know how to win better than democrats why do they keep losing elections?

We are in an echo chamber. Downvotes on lemmy do not reflect a real world consensus on opinions.

Why do Democrats talk like they can win elections but then blame voters when they lose?

And to be honest, I don’t really even follow your post. Are Democrats not progressives? Are we agreeing that they are center right and that their base isn’t really motivated to vote for that?

Why do Democrats talk like they can win elections but then blame voters when they lose?

Because they’ve won the majority of elections in the last 3 decades. They arent blaming voters when they lose. The voters that voted democrat are blaming leftists for not voting and getting Trump elected.

And to be honest, I don’t really even follow your post. Are Democrats not progressives? Are we agreeing that they are center right and that their base isn’t really motivated to vote for that?

Democrats have been moving left since Obama. Leftist didn’t show up to vote this elections because of Gaza so they got Trump elected. So now democrats need to cater to the right to increase voter turnout.
