    I dont understand why they can’t at this point. What difference would it actually make?

      They still need plausible deniability to interact with the rest of the world. I bet a lot of European countries would formally ban Musk or Musk-controlled companies if he literally said “sieg heil”, but right now they’re just side-eyeing him.

          Europe has a much more sensitive opinion of Nazism though having actually experienced it more directly than the US.

          There are still buildings with bullet holes in them from the second world war. Americans don’t have that kind of cultural reminder, it does make a difference.

          Even in the UK where there was never any ground fighting there are old Victorian Street with missing buildings, gaps in rows of houses.
