Unless the underlying tech fundameltally changes (Lemmy/Mastodon style) the result will be the same. I occasionally use Mastodon but unless it gains users, it simply cannot compete.

Mastodon has some funny showerthought posters but in terms of real life content there was little interesting news.

What about Bluesky?
Have not tried it. I see no point in going from current Twitter to future Twitter. Dorsey already sold out once.
