two things that always astonish me 1) the lack of knowledge most average people have about how much surveillance is going on 2) the lack of concern when you tell them

It is a legitimat concern, supporting trans kids is rapidly becoming a felony, in the US anyway. Maybe when the police subpoena Google for those photos, they can can build a case against you on the basis of expressing deviant interest in gender queer individuals. Maybe you aren’t fit in their eyes to have children, or work in a public office, or live near a school.

Yes they did! Omg are you serious right now??? You can’t be serious.

Why don’t you start by looking up institute for sexology and then pink triangles. Queer people were actually one of the first targets of the Nazis, a fact few people know about. The Holocaust didn’t just kill six million Jews, it killed millions more non Jews of minority status whether it be LGBTQ, disabled, “work shy”, elderly, poles, Roma, resistance fighters, and probably more groups im regrettably forgetting.

It’s less cat pics and more who your network is, your IRL movement patterns, etc.

Being flippant about it is a “I’ve got nothing to hide why care” attitude at its core. Which is a dumb attitude to have.
