From the very beginning, Mario Andretti, the alma mater of Cadillac F1, identified Herta as an almost permanent fixture in General Motors’ new Formula 1 project.

One of Herta’s problems is that he has no F1 experience, although he tested with McLaren at Portimao in 2022 and that’s where the name of Marcus Ericsson, (…), comes in.

The 34-year-old Swedish driver revealed that he has received an assignment from Andretti himself for the F1 project. “He has asked me to fly to England to test different simulators,” he revealed on the ‘Viaplay’ F1 podcast. “I will give them my opinion so they can choose the right model for the whole organization, including Formula 1, IndyCar and sports cars,” he added.

And Checo Perez and his people are moving (for him) to be the one to compete as the experienced driver of the new squad in 2026. (…) with all the support of Carlos Slim and the rest of sponsorships he had until last year in Red Bull Racing. It would be a good injection for the Andretti team
