Trump endorsed DOGE's work and declined to commit to seek congressional approval for the massive overhaul of federal agencies that he and Musk are pushing.
His role seems to be more like a prime minister, and in the absence of a constitutional framework he’s usurping any and all forms of control over the executive. It’s not uncommon for dictatorships to adopt nominally semi-presidential systems with a very weak head of state whose only role is to distract the people.

I don’t disagree on a technical level, but I think it’s clear that Americans need it kept simple when it comes to politics.
