I think the real answer here is to ignore it. Yes people are going to use AI to make videos about whatever they want. Whoever they want. Doing whatever they want them to be doing.
What will happen pretty quickly (and is already sorta happening) is people will assume all videos are fake. At that point celebrities could just start “leaking” their own videos and then claiming them to be faked. Eventually nobody will be able to tell anyways.
Gooners gonna goon.
I have already had to correct several family members that have fallen for AI videos, pictures and “news articles”.
I completely disagree. What you’re proposing would destroy objective truth and facts as a concept entirely.
Reality as most people experience it could be fabricated freely by anyone with enough reach.
At that point, democracy will be dead.
I hate the be the bearer of bad news, but if I open up my Facebook right now I will see an endless stream of people I know that are real (mostly) intelligent humans falling for AI generated slop constantly. Not only falling for it, but the sharing it with others. I’ll sometimes make the mistake of opening the comments to see a bunch of other real human people falling for it again.
It’s part of why I never go on my Facebook anymore. I basically haven’t used it for like 10 years now, but there are a small handful of people that I only keep on touch with through facebook alone.
Anyway my point is that around here we can identify AI stuff and we still call it out, but the majority of people just don’t care or lack the attention to detail required. For them the internet is already entirely fabricated. Truth has been gone for awhile now.

Your last sentence completely contradicts the point you’re trying to make in your first.
Your family members fall for AI and believe what it shows to be real, but celebs should ignore it anyway?
Yeah I probably could have worded that better.
I more so meant that once we can convince people that all videos are AI generated trash then it won’t matter anymore.
I kinda skipped some steps that I had in my head and never typed them out. I do that often.

And we see the result in politics.
