I snag it all from a junk yard. I used urethane and fabricated a new mount for the sway bar to mount to. If I did it again, I would grab the TT sway bar and swap to TT struts also.

Any TT should have the stuff. Things to grab from a TT are, aluminum pedals, seats, brake adapters, rear calipers, knuckles, control arms, strut brace, sway bar, lower subframe brace. Plan to put new bearings in the knuckles and to use mk4 hubs.

Ahh . Did you just weld the mount to the top of the control arm ? I can picture in my head how I would do it I suppose. Did you use an OEM sway bar link or adjustable ( I could see an adjustable link coming in handy) ?

It’s been hard to find the mk1TT’s around my area for some time. I went ahead and ordered the eurosport lower CA brace , it seems a bit beefier than the TT model but I do keep my eyes peeled for the other items that swap over

      • edit- could have sworn there was a TT control arm (possibly a very early version) that had a spot that could be tapped but was left blank that’s why I was asking ✌️

easier to show you than describe it.

I spent years casually poking around the junk yard before a TT showed up. They are a tough find. You might check oneloveautogroup also. They have this kind of stuff and prices are fair. I have never seen one of these control arms with the nub in person. Just in tales on the forums. My set up has been in action for a few thousand miles over a few years now. The sway bar mounts in the exact spot it used to on the mk4 arm. I used an 80a urethane.

Oh wow that’s nice ! I would have never understood that from a description.

10 years ago when I couldn’t care less about a mk4 or audi TT’s my buddy was scrapping them left and right out of his shop. All I cared about was mk2’s. Wish I knew then what I know now 😕

Thanks. I don’t even know how I would explain it.

I always notice a TT now. There is one a couple blocks over from me thats been sitting for a few years now I am eyeing. Be a short tow.

Yeah I was thinking of just welding a short piece of tube stock directly to the CA to bolt the link. Now seeing yours there is definitely enough travel in the sway bar to even go higher

ALH swapped TT is a cool ride . My buddy has done a few …just sayn 😁

TDI TT would be sweet. I love when one gets put together in a way VAG overlooked. Like vr6 beetles.

They’re fun , driven a couple. The one my buddy is building now is a convertible 🤣

He’s using my ALH wagon engine ’ stage 2 tune ,injectors etc. The wagon pulled hard so the TT should scoot
