Ironically, IMO any kind of sauce ruins a steak, even steak sauce. A good steak needs nothing more than salt, pepper, and maybe a homemade spicy salsa.
Sausages OTOH, yeah, put anything on’em, pile tons of whatever. They were asking for it them cured sluts.
I see where you’re coming from but I disagree that any sauce ruins a steak. Yeah, a properly cooked steak, probably moreso than any other meat, does taste great with nothing more than salt and pepper, but that’s not the only way to have a delicious steak.

Respectfully disagree. Recently had some aged steak with bearnaise. Was a beautiful combination.

A good pan sauce will really elevate a steak, especially if its a cheaper cut
