The modern state of Israel may have been midwived by Zionists, and it may have been largely run by Zionists since then but it continues to exist separately from the ideology that helped create it. It is a state, with borders, and bureaucracies, and citizens who are not imbued in the womb with the concept of Zionism, or how the borders got to where they are.
