This is why I always disable those whenever possible. Nobody is entitled to know when you read a damn txt.

My fiance would agree, create too much drama like this, especially if you can’t reply right away or need a min to process something important. Im an android user, don’t have this issue. Boundaries are mostly healthy.

Android mostly has RCS with read / delivered / opened receipts and ‘now typing’ notifications now

      Exactly.

Also, I might read a message quickly while I’m at work for example, but not have the chance to reply because of that, so I don’t want people to think I’m ignoring them when I just don’t have the time to reply at that moment.

I had a coworker do it to me yesterday.

“Thanks for taking care of that issue with Jeremy.”

        “Sure, no problem at all!”

“It’s just weird because he told me the opposite thing yesterday.”

Working on Jeremy’s issue and forget to respond

        “Are you mad at me?”

I enable them for the reason in the comic. I want people to know I’m ignoring them. Or maybe if it’s my wife and she sees I read it 30 mins ago but didn’t respond (if one’s needed), maybe I forgot, and she can poke me again to reply.
