I totally agree. Trump is a populist. Musk is pragmatic, probably goes along with it because he knows who’s in charge. Trump and the electorate. The electorate will certainly going to notice negative impact of DOGE.

If we want to stop and possibly lower inflation, they need to reduce the debt. It’ll cause some pains at first but long term, it needs to be done. I went to the grocery store and it was 150 for one person for one week.

Yeah and after that I going use that check to buy guns. Fucking Elon and Trump think a 5k will buy us off, yet all it would do is put America in a deep recession. Those stimulus checks will be a temporary relief and the mega morons will cheer and point and say look how great Trump is doing. In mean time prices of everything will sky rocket and things will get a lot worse.

By the end of the year this country will be over. By summer we should really feel those effects. Especially in food supplies.

Would be ironic, because they also say all the COVID stimulus is what caused all this inflation.

Why I’m against it. The stimulus checks did help drive inflation. While it sounds nice to get 5k. It’ll drive inflation even higher. It’s a bad idea

I’ll be surprised if the budget actually goes down any appreciable amount.

I think the earliest we will know is next year. I don’t see much changing until then. The severance package is very generous, which would prevent any savings from being seen until next year

The question is, will they break the government with what appears to be an unorganized attempt at culling the waste?

I’ll be surprised if anything goes as planned because it’s all so rushed and disorganized. I’m not convinced everyone will get their severance package.
