I’m liking Pixelix, it’s free on Fdroid. It’s better than the official app, but missing some features still

I’ve been alternating between the mobile website and the official Android app since the launch of Pixelfed.ca. I’m leaning towards the website due to some deficiencies in the official app:

    • Lots of random crashes. I can’t reliably replicate this, so I can’t say for sure what causes it. I’m using a Google Pixel 9 Pro on Android 15.
    • There might be some user error here, but I can’t get the media editor to work when creating posts. On the New Post screen, I enabled the media editor in the settings menu. I am not given any kind of editing options after selecting an image to upload.
    • No suggestions when typing hashtags.
    • No global feed.

Overall, I’m really enjoying my Pixelfed experience despite the growing pains associated with using a new instance.

Well I’m glad I’m not crazy because I’ve been having the same struggle trying to figure out how that works. To be fair to the app though, even on the desktop website it’s incredibly vague and I would go so far as to call it hidden.
