I’ve invested hundreds of hours into D2:LoD, D3, and D2R and I’ve struggled hard with maintaining interest in D4 and Vessel. D4 itself plays more like an MMO and the grinding doesn’t feel rewarding and that bleeds into the expansion. In my opinion, the expansion isn’t worth the money as the story is really slow and just not engaging so it just feels like an overpriced new class.

I’ll take your word for it. I played d4 andainch and loved it. I recently played it again and made a seasonal character. I am kind of disappointed by how much loot you get right off the bat. You get 10 skill points, and the first random enemy I killed i got a rare item. The first chest I opened I was flooded with a few legendaries and the rest were yellows. I do like the mind numb, maybe I’ll try last epoch or something. I saw they’re getting a big update pretty soon. (I also play POE2 and I love it, but I’m kind of waiting for the flail/templar class to get back into it)

Exactly, it kills that little victorious moment of finding a rare or legendary entirely when you basically trip over them immediately. I’ve been meaning to give Last Epoch another go and a big update sounds like a good reason, so thank you for that. I loved PoE2 it’s friggin great, I can’t wait for the new skills and weapons to release. It was a touch slow feeling compared to PoE, but that didn’t take long to get used to.

Last Epoch is great! The new update is coming in April. The way they handled trade vs self found (merchant’s guild and circle of fortune) is especially great. I have several hundred hours into it already and am waiting on the update to pick it up again.
