Pierre Polievre and the Conservatives are using lies and misinformation to play grievance politics while promising to fix everything, offering no plans for how they’re going to do that, and saying, “I’m not Justin Trudeau.”

Canada deserves better. Much better.

    • GDP growth in the first quarter of 2024 is on track for around 3.5 per cent annualized.

How will electing Pierre Polievre who has no real world job experience and whose only plan is to cut taxes on corporations and the wealthy and to cut programs to the rest of us to pay for it, who will run up the deficit and the debt help you? American voters elected Trump because, “BIDEN BAD!” How is that working out for them? How do you think that electing PP because, “TRUDEAU BAD!” will work out for Canada?

We need dollar store Trump like we need a hole in the head.

We have a high credit rating because foreign creditors can liquidate our pension to pay for default.

Debt to GDP excludes provinces, unlike other country.

Inflation is being gamed by buying half of all mortgage bonds to depress shelter inflation. Our FX is falling as poor renter subsidize asset holders, and due to our high sensitivity to interest rates due to the overlevered housing bubble.

I’d be curious what GDP will do without mass immigration. Per capita GDP is lower than before Trudeau took over if I’m not mistaken, as our government creates new federal employee at breakneck speeds.

The lifting children out of poverty seems pretty weird given housing and rents doubled. I guess unfunded cheques paid for with future austerity is enough to make it positive?

You think this is Justin Trudeau’s fault? You think he sets rents? How did he raise rents in the UK? France? The US? Why do you worship him so much? Even those of us who lean left don’t think he can do any of those things.

Rents are high because of industrial real estate investors buying up single family homes and condominiums. Those same people own the media that feeds you a constant stream of grievance and misinformation to get you to vote in a career politician who promises to solve all of your problems but never tells you how he’s going to do that.

Canada deserves better than dollar store Trump.

liberals and NDP did 4% annual population growth into an existing housing crisis, which was not expanding due to our municipal zoning. Pierres plan to withhold funds for areas that don’t build is ideal I think, as areas like Burnaby take the housing accelerator fund and then raise development fees 50k. In Toronto developer fees actually rose thousands of percent.

Rents are high due to a lack of supply, the BoC even says this. Investors may drive up prices as people escape QE and followed the money, pension funds need something that keeps up with inflation.

Pierre also was at many rally years ago talking about pipelines east and west, instilling optimism in one of our main exports that we use to fund our social safety net. The Liberals meanwhile said there was no business case, causing us to be fully reliant on the US instead. Yet you want to reward them.

Let’s not vote for Kamala Harris because the Biden administration didn’t stop the genocide in Gaza. Trump supports and proposes participating in the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. How did grievance politics work out for the US? Gaza?

We deserve better than dollar store Trump.
