Summary

Health officials are warning against “measles parties,” where parents intentionally expose children to the virus to build natural immunity, amid a growing outbreak in Texas and New Mexico.

The practice is highly dangerous, as measles can lead to severe complications, including pneumonia, encephalitis, and fatal brain disorders.

Experts stress that vaccination is the safest way to prevent infection.

Even vaccine-skeptic U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has urged parents to get the MMR vaccine.

No these are not Darwin awards. Its murder, manslaughter and negligence.

A Darwin award is for removing yourself from the genepool not killing your and other peoples children while staying potentially fertile yourself.

Come on, now. It can’t be manslaughter and murder. Be angry, but be angry and logically consistent.

Technically speaking a Darwin Award can be given to someone that removes their contributions to the gene pool while also risking themselves. There was a nomination for a scientist that tested a venom on himself and his son, for example.

Measles parties also risk the self as it’s quite contagious. It definitely counts.
