It’s heartening that for all but one of tonight’s goals, our xG on target (takes into account the direction of the shot and GK location) was higher than the xG, and let me tell you, we’ve been seriously underperforming on that measure this season.

NOW, I concede that this does take into account GK positioning and therefore is tainted (dear Lord he was woeful on all but one of them iirc). However, I’ve watched these same players (mostly Havertz) shoot directly at the keeper when they’re 1-on-1; hopefully they can carry the confidence forward and just leather it next time.
