“We’re asking people to divest from Target because they have turned their back on our community,” Rev. Jamal Bryant, a prominent Atlanta-area megachurch pastor who started the boycott, said in an interview with CNN.

On January 24, days into Donald Trump’s presidency, Target announced it was eliminating hiring goals for minority employees, ending an executive committee focused on racial justice and making other changes to its diversity initiatives.

How the heck does cutting DEI programs matter to a megachurch? That’s literally the opposite of turning their back to that community considering how they predominantly voted. Are they confused and think Target is still wOkE?

That’s a cool thing for the pastor to go out on before getting defrocked, like quitting a police job by joining BLM protests. Hopefully most churchgoers’ hateful reactions will motivate the others against trump

After finishing reading it it kinda seems like a “leopards ate my face” deal, and I guess I’ll take those lol

Not all megachurches share the same values. I’m going to take a wild guess and say the pastor named Jamal may not be white.

I’ve never heard of one that peaches any “woke shit”, but maybe they did and there aren’t a lot of trump supporters there

I don’t know this church, but it’s not that surprising that a black pastor cares about racial discrimination. Doesn’t necessarily mean they preach other kinds of “woke shit”, though, although a lot of smaller churches do.
