I was in a worse way than you, I neglected all kind of 🏴☠️ streaming, full Plex with Softwarr setup, my NAS got filled and started to look up for cheap alternatives, ended up with a RD account, it certainly feels reassuring not to have to download EVERYTHING, now I only get what I want/like more.
Not for nothing RD (which is content comes from Torrents) is so used along with Kodi (argubly the best video player), because you get a lot of content from there… Torrents will always be better than embed videos.
I’m lucky that I barely and rarely care about downloading something, I have a jellyfin server but it’s not even half full, I mostly watch IPTV to entertain myself, when something picks my interest I watch it on stream and only then I decided if I download it and keep it or not, most of the time I don’t.
Basically the same reason I can’t justify paying for other services, I’d watch less than half their content.
