Someone’s been trying to access my deactivated FB account. That has prompted me to log in (and hence reactivate my account which I’ve deactivated a while back), and change my password to a pretty secure one (200 bits of entropy according to my password manager).

I’ve got to deactivate this shit again. 😮‍💨

I am also worried whether or not I’ve walked into a trap (by reactivating my FB account).

This happened to me as well just now. My account isn’t inactive, though.

This is Facebook doing “inspection.” This was happened to me when I had a dummy Facebook account back in 2021.

Somehow, may kakayahan sila mag-access sa account mo na walang pahintulot kahit naka MFA ka.

        Wait, what?

The thing that alerted me to this shit is this e-mail from FB:

We received a request to reset your Facebook password.

Enter the following password reset code:

        ######

If that’s FB doing inspection, they could have just changed my password without my permission. It’s shitty, but it’s FB, that’s not beneath them.

Odd. I also did receive an email regarding it. I reported it to Facebook. Doubt others could access my account because of MFA.

So it’s a thing that’s happening to at least a handful of us, huh? I dunno whether to put my tinfoil hat or my casserole hat on, lol! Kidding aside though, it getting more and more plausible to me that there’s some “inspection” going on.

Yes, this was happened to me, also. Parang gumagawa sila ng ploy na as if may “unauthorized access” sa account mo. At that time, tatlong email from them na-receive ko.

Huh, I see. Thanks for the info.

This is actually the second e-mail I received from them, both of them are of the format I‌ quoted. Requiring a valid ID and a selfie to access my fucking FB account is just so Meta (har! har!)

Maybe it’s just my paranoid tendencies speaking, but the reason acted fast this time is because if ever it were someone trying to hack into my account, they might be able to contact my family and relatives, and IDK, ask money from them, I suppose? My immediate family knows what’s up though, but for the others? I can’t be bothered to explain to them, let alone even talk to them. The only reason I didn’t block/unfriend them is because I don’t want to deal with any possible fallout.

At any rate, it’d be very weird then if they suddenly think I contacted them to ask for money or sth. Maybe I’m just too paranoid, lol!
