This is meant to up-end the Canadian economy. He feels the US economy can outlast this but Canada’s can’t. It’s war but he won’t declare it cause he is a coward.
It’s meant to undermine both economies. Russia believes a weaker US is better for them. And US policy currently aligns with Moscow. Moscow more than New York, LA, or Chicago.
I understand that Canada doesn’t want to cause harm to anyone and also wants to protect itself, and that’s why leaders are backtracking, but it’d be nice if they did what they said they’d do.
