EDIT: today it switched to medium security \o/ and I also gained some population, even if there was no tick since last checked this night according to https://elitebgs.app/tick
I think we don’t know yet if the security pips translate to the security for the system or for example only for how fast security slider moves. In the pre-generated bubble, security levels depend on controlling faction government type and states, not stations makeup of the system

The controlling faction only gained <1% influence and still all factions have none state

Tho there has to be an effect of the things we build. And I’m sure I’ve read a comment someone saying that their security status changed. But I’m not sure when exactly the effect kicks in.
