Hey folks, wondering what I may be doing wrong. I’m trying to join the Destiny community on Lemmy.world. However when I use the search feature in lemmy.fmhy.ml I can’t see it show up, even though I see [email protected] as a result. If I go to lemmy.fmhy.ml/c/[email protected] I get a 404 couldn’t find community error. However lemmy.fmhy.ml/c/[email protected] works. The community does exist if you go to https://lemmy.world/c/destiny. What am I doing wrong?
You need to grab the full URL (https://lemmy.world/c/destiny), paste it into the community search, change all search settings to “All”, wait 5 secs for your instance to pull in the community, then click through and subscribe.
EDIT: To explain what’s going on, an instance only pulls in a community once at least one user is subscribed.
Thank you! I was using the search originally in the Jerboa app, but that seems to not have the all settings you mentioned. Searching on the web version allowed me to see those settings and it showed up.
Yeah, the Jerboa app is missing quite a few features atm. It’s early days yet.
