Or got any plans for the week?

It was my SO’s birthday and she wanted to go to a local transport museum, which was actually great fun riding around the site on trains, trams and trolley buses. A couple of shots of some 1920s trams.

Nice pics, museum good shout with all this rain. My Saturday was mostly spent looking out the window wishing the non stop rain would bugger off, I did get a trip in to the builders merchants and got some timber, and as yesterday was nice and dry I actually managed to get on with my little project - fitting solar panels.

I’m currently getting quotes in for a 5kw array and 5kw inverter, some of the prices are so comical I’ve been tempted to phone them back and just laugh hysterically down the phone at them.

It’s all so expensive isnt it! The payback periods can be so long that I think you need to want to do it and get some kind of enjoyment out of it.

My initial setup will be very modest - I’m putting panels up on my brick shed - so just 800W for now, but will do the main roof at some point which will be around 2.5kW.

Cruicially I’ll be adding battery storage. My brother has built his own battery system and charges that from both his 2.6kW solar array and cheap electric tariffs and his energy bills are buttons.
