    Because a child needs a stable relationship between their parents in order to have a decent childhood. From a non-religious standpoint marriage is just another step in ensuring that the parents are ready to stay together for the remainder of the child’s childhood and hopefully life.

        Go in front of whoever you want. But make sure it’s with her and she knows. The commitment in front of others has meaning.
