Hey all! I’m finally looking at upgrading from my LG V30. I love the phone but it’s really starting to show its age.

I got my V30 about a year after it came out, used, so I’m not a stranger to buying used, year old phones. Particularly, the screen, camera, and battery life. I’m the type to go all out on customization, so a new launcher, debloater, etc will be used (but I don’t usually root my devices). The S22U is available for $5-600 new in some spots. Would you consider buying one at that price, or is the S23U a worthy enough upgrade to pay the extra few hundred?

Wait for the Samsung event today. Once the S23 is announced the prices of the S23 will drop.

Look for a good deal and get the S23 if you want Samsung. Note: there is no headphone jack.

Alternatively, Sony are about to announce the Sony Xperia 5v which looks really good but it will be priced around the 800 mark I would guess.

A bit steep but it has a headphone jack.

I also had the V30 but the battery life was so, so bad after a few years that I replaced it with a Sony Xperia 10iii. I only buy phones with a headphone jack and SD card slot. This has both and is waterproof and is nice and compact. Camera is decent, not as good as the V30 but very good for average user. Battery life is typically 2 days.
