Yep. I tried lining them up the best I could when I built them, but uneven ground and maybe gravity difference can throw it off. With this rocket there are three sides I can approach it from, and I try to pick the flatest. You can also play around with the spring strength settings on the wheels or landing gear to raise or lower them when trying to dock. Sometimes I accelerate right before docking in order to lift the front of the rover.
