I understand the sentiment, but remember what happened to Germany post WWI. Austerity-like treatment (as if Trump isn’t doing that himself with tariffs, the dumbass…) is most likely to only foster resentment of “others” and ossify MAGAt-like mindsets.
The US is only doing well in the tiny, irrelevant stats that only report on how well rich people are doing. The average American is not doing well, which is partly why his lies won him the office in the dirst place…

It is different though. Germany post WWI was doing poorly. USA, for now, is a strong bully. This more akin to sanctions on Russia, say.
