    The Confederacy wasn’t a different country, it was a rebellion.

    Which in some ways makes its presence even more insane.

      But they did secede and form a different—albeit shortlived—country.

        That would require recognizing them as a country, which the Union never has and never will. As I am a Good Union Boy™, I also have this stance.
