I want a search engine that indexes and displays only the sites I ask it to (my bookmarks). I often come across insanely good articles and resources, but because I don’t really need them at that moment, I forget about them and can’t find them when I need them. Maybe there is a search engine at which you can throw good websites you find, and then use if you think you came across it before. (All stored localy)

Currently I am just storing everything into a Notion database, but then I either have to write down what that website is, or I will never find it.

Thanks and have a great day.

Thanks, now that I look at it, Kagi is pretty insane in terms of features, unfortunately Kagi isn’t free (and I will probably have to continue selling myself to google for a while), and Kagi doesn’t have the exact features I need. I wanted it to be a search engine specifically for my bookmarks and nothings else.

I think I will have to put writing my own search engine onto my summer project list. (And probably is a good idea to learn about indexing,) or better yet: figure out how YaCy works or archivebox work, I tried them out, I think if I mess up their configurations, they will give me functionality I want.
