minus-squareVuraniuteOPlinkfedilink1•2 years agoMostly all the declarative package management. It sounds like there’s no way to ever have a missing dependency ever again, but in reality, 99% of the time the thing you’re trying to run isn’t in Nixpkgs and doesn’t have a shell.nix.

What tempted you and what made you ditch it?
Mostly all the declarative package management. It sounds like there’s no way to ever have a missing dependency ever again, but in reality, 99% of the time the thing you’re trying to run isn’t in Nixpkgs and doesn’t have a shell.nix.
That’s why you have to learn how to make derivations!
