If the difference was 2.5 years then I would still consider that separate group of people to be founders. Seems likely that some of the same people who created the original document would be involved with adding the early amendments.
So, amendments are changes that have been made to the constitution due to previously unforeseen circumstances. The most recent amendment to the constitution was made in 1992. Is our system perfect? Obviously not. Is your system perfect? I doubt it. I could have done without the 2nd amendment but in 2025 I’m glad it’s there. The founders had experienced authoritarianism, so they added it, and we haven’t experienced it again until very recently.
