And while this isn’t necessarily what the interviewer argued, it absolutely grinds my gears when people say things like “well, the world operates this way, we just have to accommodate it and hope for change”. Or “the world is miserable so you just have to have a thick skin”.
Why is the message we tell our kids always “world = bad, learn to survive it” and not “world is broken, teach each other how to fix it”?
