I would recommend NOT taking antihistamines, especially not Benadryl, as it causes dementia. It’s better to figure out what is triggering your histamine release and address that directly if you can. For me, it was a vitamin e (mixed tocopherols, NOT from soy but from other stuff like saffron) and magnesium (magnesium glycinate or taurate) deficiency that gradually got better with supplements,
Also I avoid high histamine foods - I haven’t eaten canned food in like a year for this reason. Foods have more histamine the longer they sit out. As in, the food has histamine in it, you aren’t allergic, you are just getting a dose of histamine. You can look up high histamine foods to get a list
