I’m sad to see the reddit community gone, and this one inactive! I hope this place ends up getting some traffic!

Well thank you for creating some content!

Tell us the story of this photo. Where was this taken? How long of a trip? Any mishaps? Did you learn anything for next time?

I too miss the content from that other place, and appreciate you doing suggesting about it! Sadly, I don’t have anything of my own to share… Yet! But now I know where to come when I do.

A long-time childhood friend and I took a trip on Vancouver island last year, and bombed around a ton of service roads. There was actually an INCREDIBLE mishap that happened not long after we crossed that bridge. The road was completely closed barely 5 km from where it was supposed to meet up with pavement again, with a giant open pit where they’d installed a huge culvert and hadn’t gotten around to covering it again.

After a failed attempt to get my bike across, we ended up having to ride 80 km back the way we came. Makes a great story though!

The same buddy and I are heading off on another trip pretty soon- He’s got a fancy used BMW now, though, and I’m still on the 20-year-old KLR!
